newborn photos

I always knew that I wanted "newborn pictures" of Xander. I thought, since I have a pretty nice camera, that I would attempt to take some myself. HA! I did not know the tricks to get those nice, peaceful looking newborn pics. Here is what I got instead (and btw- these are the good ones!)

He wouldn't shut his mouth , so Nathan tried to help him. 

Some of them aren't too bad- but they aren't exactly what I wanted. So we decided to hire a professional!

His turned out much better, don't you think?

We had a baby.

Our first family photo! I would usually ask you to excuse how terrible I look- but dude, I had just squeezed a boy child from my loins- and this is how I looked on that day and I don't even care! It was a wonderful day!

Xander Paul Lunt was born at 3:40 p.m. on June 19, 2013. He weighed 8lbs 11oz and was 22" long. If you would like to read his birth story and see how awful I looked while in labor- you will need to check out the baby blog.

I have a bunch more posts in queue. I know I am waaaaaay behind; My kid will be 7 weeks tomorrow and I am just now posting about his birth.  In my defense, taking care of a newborn has kept me pretty busy. So for those of you who don't get see him often, or haven't gotten to see him at all- there are a bunch of pictures on the way and updates on all the Lunt family shenanigans!

This is a pretty random post, but I just had to share. 

When we went to California last year, Nathan won a little stuffed minion (from the movie Despicable Me) while playing a game at Six Flags. We brought it home, and Dave adopted it for himself. 

He doesn't chew on it or try to destroy it- he just carries it around with him. It's the very first thing he does when he comes inside- he finds his minion.

I found this on Pinterest, and instantly thought of little Dave.
